Robert B. Leonard, Assistant to the County Executive for Economic Development and Intergovernmental Affairs

Sacramento County's Economic Development helps foster business growth, regional prosperity, and community satisfaction. The team at Economic Development also oversees two vital, growing areas within the community:

  • McClellan -This thriving business park features an active airport, research and industrial facilities and affordable work-space in a park-like setting which already boasts an upscale hotel, running track, and child-care. A flight simulator school, Coast Guard and aeronautical/aviation museum add to this unique environment. Join these employers who may be eligible to take advantage of business incentives like LAMBRA and Enterprise Zones.
  • Mather - This premier complex is home to a bustling cargo airport, upscale residences, build-to-suit acreage, well-planned infrastructure, an eighteen-hole championship golf course, and a popular vernal pool preserve. It boasts a prestigious tenant list, and there are future plans for a private university.

Resources

The Economic Development team works closely with the Business Environmental Resources Center (BERC), which helps businesses understand and comply with federal, state, and local environmental regulations. BERC offers free, confidential consultation services for environmental and other issues, and hosts an annual pollution prevention award program.

Our department can also help connect businesses with resources in the Sacramento region. Our Business Advocate helps pave the way for companies relocating and expanding in Sacramento County . Rapid response teams can be assembled to help with planning and development. For more information, contact Jim Pardun at pardunj@saccounty.net, (916)-874-1481
